This site, ksvan.eu, is run by the author K.S. Van. This page explains what personal data the site collects, why, who else handles it, and how you can get it changed or deleted. Questions go to author.k.s.van@gmail.com.
What is collected
- Sign-up forms (free stories, sample chapters and the Moonhaven Case Files puzzles): your email address and, if you give it, your first name. The puzzles also note which book link brought you there.
- Review-copy requests: your first name, email address and, if you give it, your Goodreads profile link.
- Visit statistics: Google Analytics records pages viewed, clicks on book links, rough location (country/city), device and browser type. It uses cookies and does not tell us who you are.
Nothing else is collected. There are no accounts, no payments and no comments on this site.
Why it is used
- To send you the free book or review copy you asked for.
- To send occasional reader emails — a few a year, mainly when a new book is out. You agree to this when you sign up (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), and every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand which pages and books readers find useful, so the site can be improved.
Your data is never sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing.
Who handles it
- Netlify — hosts the site and receives form submissions.
- Resend — delivers the emails with your download links.
- Kit — stores the reader mailing list.
- Google Analytics — visit statistics.
These providers may process data outside the EU under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long it is kept
Mailing-list data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Review-copy requests are kept for as long as the review programme needs them. Analytics data is kept for the standard Google Analytics retention period.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or withdraw consent at any time, by writing to author.k.s.van@gmail.com. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority (in Poland: UODO). You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings.
Google account access (author tools)
The author uses a private Google Cloud application (“ksvan-gmail”) to manage his own K.S. Van mailbox. It connects only to the author’s own account, is not offered to the public, and does not access, store or share any other person’s Google data. Use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
