MURDER AT STONEHARBOR (Book 4)
November in a quarry town on the New Hampshire border, a hundred and twenty miles inland. Sterling Vane, out on bail, writes that Stoneharbor is next and that its Guardian went silent three years ago. Under the old Hale quarry, nine granite pillars stand in a circle, and three years ago someone cut into the seventh in the night. Nell Cray, who kept the chamber alone for twenty-five years, walked out and never went back. Now a front company wants access to the quarry land, a sedan keeps changing its plates, and someone has found a second way into the stone.

MURDER AT CAIRN COVE (Book 5)
February on Casco Bay, in a lobstering village of three hundred and eighty people. The cove’s last Guardian, Ed Trahearne, drowned four years ago, and his boat was found drifting south on a night the current ran north. Below the granite cairn on the point lies a cave that opens only at low tide, and Gideon Cole, the retired fisherman at the end of the dock, has held it alone since Ed died. Marcus Hale wants a building permit for the rocks below the cairn. Ezra says this node breathes. And at the waterline, something stands watching.

MURDER AT TIDEFALL (Book 6)
Sixty-odd miles inland, on the Sagasset River, a mid-century dam was poured against stonework older than the state’s records. Three years ago, city engineer Daniel Kelleher went out on a night inspection and didn’t come back, and the report blamed the weather. The last entry in his gray field notebook reads: I am going to use the word emergency. Now a shell company wants a “comprehensive modernization,” Clara Vane, of the branch that inherited the guilt and none of the money, is the only objection on record, and when Sam puts her palm to the gallery wall, she feels it: three beats, a pause, three beats.

With Dr. Rowan Ashby, a physician whose research is in geophysics, Sam works every case the way a homicide detective would. And when Tidefall goes quiet, four names are left, and the ring on her hand begins to pull west.
